Technology is a wonderful thing and it has changed how we do things in so many ways, as well as changed how we view the world. Now, nearly everyone has a ‘smart’ phone with the capability to snap a picture at any time, to capture everyday memories as they happen.
However, when you need photography for business reasons, it is time to bring in the professionals. Whether it’s a head shot, a group shot or photos for a special event, a professional photographer can make all the difference on three different levels.
Placement and arrangement of people. A professional photographer knows how to arrange people and frame the shot for the best result.
Lighting and setup. A professional has proper studio lighting to create the right mood paired with the appropriate background and access to convincing models and actors to get results that clearly convey the message the client is looking for.
Candid Shots. The professional photographer uses cameras that have the capabilities to zoom in, get a wide angle shots and stay steady to get the best possible candid shot at a major event. This 100% candid journalistic shot could easily be used in a marketing campaign.
So, if you need a few ‘happy snaps’ for the company bulletin board, by all means use the camera on your ‘smart’ phone. If you need quality shots for business and promotional purposes, by all means call a professional!
21st Century Digital Photography by Neil Anthony
In around 40 seconds or so you will be able to get a tasty bite of what we’ve been photographing in the last 10 years. I first showed this clip during a meeting to 35-40 business men and women. Later I received the best compliment I have ever had. One of the marketing business people asked me, “how do we know you didn’t just buy a bunch of stock images and claimed them to be your own? Well I understood why he would think this as he uses stock photos as part of his business. After a brief moment of thought, I thanked him for questioning my work, as from his perspective my work is good enough to be sold on the stock photography market.

|Neil Anthony of 21st Century Digital & ‘In The Moment Photography’ photographs and films business marketing events and weddings both internationally and throughout the Tri-State area. At a wedding Neil Anthony captures the transition of time, by being reactive, a quiet observer, the person who reports what he sees and doesn’t try to improve it, arrange it or fictionalize it, but captures the moments, naturally at its best. His clearly conveyed creative vision in the business arena always results in sharp authoritative imagery.|
The Olde Mill Inn, Basking Ridge, New Jersey is fast becoming one of the new favorites for 21st Century Digital Photography. We are photographing an increasing number of weddings at this classic venue, and as of the end of 2012 we already have 6 weddings booked for 2013 at both the hotel facility and the Grain House restaurant, and a few more brides “on the fence” regarding our services here.
It was a number of years ago that we discovered the old world charm of this historic venue when we photographed a 30th wedding anniversary for a family visiting from Sweden, and since then Neil has nurtured a professional relationship with both the management and most importantly to us, the staff. Why the staff you might ask; well they are the people on the ground when it comes to your event and we have found them to be incredibly efficient at solving last minute problems for you as a guest and also 21st Century Digital as an outside vendor. Also the staff actually love their jobs; yes it is true, they have told me this themselves and there were no managers in sight.
As a result of this partnership we have been commissioned by the management to photograph many of their corporate rooms and facilities, some of which are currently featured on the Olde Mill website. Also we have on several occasions been invited on to participate in bridal shows held at the Inn.
The Olde Mill Inn features great event spaces, such as the Grand Ballroom, unique rooms once visited by our forefathers in the 18th century now converted into bridal suites, a small Library and tended gardens; great for outdoor ceremonies.
Business events also receive the ‘Old Mill’ classic attention by offering over 16,000 square feet of meeting space in 18 private rooms that can accommodate up to 500 people or as little as five. This place might be old world but the management has integrated technology into the right places which in some cases enhances the old world appeal of the facility; things like allergy-free rooms. The latest large flat screen TV’s are in keeping with the feel of the place and somehow manage not to overwhelm the Inn’s central theme. Even the smooth running elevators somehow retain a less modern charm.
The recent demise of a well know wedding and corporate entertainment company have left countless brides without Photography, DJ and Videography services. Our sister company, In The Moment Wedding & Event Photography, www.itmPhotos.com, and NYGHT VIZION entertainment have grabbed the baton and are making these events happen uninterrupted; many of the services are financed out of our own pockets as the previous company ran off with all the deposits. When asked, Neil Anthony from ITM Photos said, “It’s not always about the money. These young men and women are planning one of the most important days of their lives. Let’s just be honest; the euphoria of the wedding will soon be replaced by the reality and challenges of marriage. It gives us the ‘warm and fuzzies’ to help enable them to enjoy the culmination of all that hard work that went into planning their wedding day even if it only lasts for eight hours. I have great memories of my wedding day, so why shouldn’t everyone else?”
